Google Hubris Watch, Part 2

Two years ago this month, I noted an eye-opening Wall Street Journal article about the two young founders of Google and their emerging plans to outfit a personal jet for wild parties. It gave people the idea that perhaps these two were about to take their eye off the ball a bit, with possible bad consequences for the web search giant. That doesn't seem to have happened. But this weekend, New York Times business columnist Joe Nocera wrote a great piece about Google's coming to terms with the fact that lots of its employees need on-site day care. The piece reads like a study in corporate hubris, and raises the possibility that this mighty company just might be headed for a major stumble as a result of its insularity and extreme pride.
