The Meaning of Where You Part Your Hair

Did you know that an entire body of pseudoscience has arisen around the issue of which side of the head one parts their hair? Fortune Magazine reports that a disproportionate number of CEOs in corporate America choose to part on the left side. Even more intriguing: after she dropped her historic run for the presidency, Hillary Clinton changed the part in her hair from the left side to the right. We look forward to your reactions to this ground-breaking new research.

Jimmy Carter changed the part in his hair before the end of his presidency. His impulse wasn't fashion. He was hiding a bald spot on his scalp that was a likely result of stress from holding the office. Hil's motives might be the same, as we know she encounters stress at the office and home.

You have quite a memory for presidential trivia, Jim. I'm impressed. Thanks for adding that interesting point.

At last my life's story has been explained.

I should have been a corporate exec. Clearly I was switched at birth.

That's no surprise, Valdis. Everyone knows you're a natural leader. If poets are the universe's unacknowledged CEOs, as the old saying goes, then social-network gurus are at least the chief operating officers. Thanks for stopping in, pal. For readers not familiar with Valdis or his work, here's a brief overview we published about the man and the method four years ago:

Thanks John.

I have updated the political book buying map that the NYT wrote about. More purple this year, but the purples are connected more to the blues than the reds.

The red echo chamber is increasingly isolating itself, while the blue and purple are at least talking to/reading each other.

That's a very interesting finding, Valdis, and completely consistent with what I'm seeing and hearing anecdotally. I hope readers will poke around your site and read widely, because there are some great buried treasures there.
