The Big Green Bus Stops for a Visit
We got a treat this week, playing host to 15 college students who are touring the country in a mobile educational vehicle. My wife's niece, Anna Wearn, was among the Dartmouth students who are touring America in the Big Green Bus, and they camped out at our house for a couple nights, and got to enjoy Cedar Point before taking off for their next stop, Columbus. The Plain Dealer's environmental beat reporter Michael Scott posted this video interview with Anna, and the accompanying story ran in the print edition yesterday. Saw the bus drive by when it was here, and had no clue what it was about. Thanks for getting me up to speed. Your niece is adorable, intelligent and articulate. I wonder how old the people are who thought they were hippies, and how exactly they would define one. Yeah, that Dartmouth is just spews out hippies like a meat grinder at McDonalds. Sheesh.
Maybe young Anna and her friends rattled the cages of people who are logic-challenged fear-mongers like her ol' Uncle John does rather effectively on occasion. I hope so, our world needs people who will think outside the gaspump. Real subversives, those kids, they could go and give some of us ordinary folk hope for the future.
Anna Wearn is a remarkable lady, and the youngest of four equally remarkable Wearn siblings from Oregon. It was wonderful to see her in her element, with her school friends. But she shone even brighter still in that video.

John, this is the sort of news that fills me with such hope for our future. What an engaging young lady... You just have to know I love this!

Anna's fan base continues to grow. Maybe we should launch a companion site for her groupies. Better yet, perhaps you can stop by the Big Green Bus blog & show her some appreciation there. Young folks like her do indeed make me optimistic about the future.

I truly enjoyed your video and respect the work you and your crew are pursuing. What a pleasure it is to see well spoken people passionate about the world we live in. It is plain to see that your intentions will altruistically have a positive effect for all mankind. That does not make you a hippy, it simply makes you a kind, caring and conscientious human being.
Most of us have faith in you, I doubt that anyone can make you lose focus. Thank you and continued success on your tour. Be safe.
